Grade 304 is considered to be one of the most widely used grades because it is very economical and very easily available. As an austenitic stainless steel grade belonging to the 300 series family, its chemical composition can be changed to meet the requirements. For instance, if welding piping systems is a priority, its chemical composition can be changed by lowering the content of carbon. Low carbon containing alloys such as the Stainless Steel 304L Flanges are less likely to remain vulnerable to intergranular corrosion.

Stainless Steel 304L Flanges

Stainless Steel 304L Flanges has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type SS 304L Blind FLanges(BLRF) has a Carbon maximum is 0.035. Stainless Steel 304L Pipe Flanges is the standard "18/8 stainless" that is commonly found in Industrial Flanges and applications. 304L Stainless Steel Blind Flange is the most versatile and widely used alloy flange. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of SS 304L Spectacle Blind Flange is roughly~515 Mpa, 304L having a 0.2% yield strength of~205Mpa. The carbon ranges are 0.035% maximum for the SS 304L Threaded Flanges, all other element ranges are essentially the same but nickel range for 304L is 8.00-13.00%.
