GH4180 Nickel Base Alloy Plate

GH4180 has excellent molding and welding characteristics. It can be forged or hot-worked if the temperature is kept in a range of approximately 1800-2150° F. Ideally, in order to control grain size, the finishing hot work operation should be performed at the lower end of the temperature range. Due to its excellent ductility, alloy GH4180 is also easily formed by cold working. Alloys do, however, work harden rapidly, so complex component forming operations may require intermediate annealing treatments.

Application example: The exhaust valve of diesel engine for ship and tank is mainly made by Nimonic 80A forging. Nimonic 80A has high heat resistance, high strength at high temperature, large deformation resistance, increasing the difficulty of forging forming. Suitable for manufacture of bolt, combustion chamber exhaust valve.
