Hastelloy  C-276  Introduction

There is not enough Cr in Hastelloy C-276 alloy to resist corrosion in strong oxidizing environment, such as hot concentrated nitric acid. The mechanical properties of Hastelloy alloy are very outstanding. It has the characteristics of high strength and toughness, so it is difficult to machine. Moreover, its strain hardening tendency is very strong. When the deformation rate reaches 15%, it is about twice that of 18-8 stainless steel. There is also a middle temperature sensitization zone in Hastelloy alloy, and its sensitization tendency increases with the increase of deformation rate. When the temperature is high, Hastelloy alloy is easy to absorb harmful elements, which reduces its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
