Incoloy B-3 Nickel Base Alloy Bar

Alloy B-3 is a new member of the nickel-molybdenum family of alloys, and it has excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid at any temperature and concentration. It also has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, anthranilic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing media.

Due to the adjustment of its chemical composition, its thermal stability has been dramatically improved compared to the original B-2 alloy. b-3 alloy has high resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, knife edge corrosion and corrosion in the heat affected zone of welding.

Metallographic structure of Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 has a face-centered cubic lattice structure. The iron and chromium content of the alloy is kept to a minimum, thus preventing the precipitation of the Ni4Mo phase between 700 and 800°C and thus reducing the risk of process embrittlement.
