Easy and economical manufacturing of INCONEL alloy 718, coupled with excellent tensile, fatigue, creep and rupture strength, makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Examples include parts for liquid-fuel rockets, rings, casings and various formed sheet metal parts for aircraft and land-based gas turbine engines, as well as cryogenic tanks. It is also used for fasteners and instrument parts.

Alloy 718 (UNS N07718) is a high-strength, nickel-based superalloy made for long-term use in temperatures ranging from cryogenic up to 1200°F. The alloy is readily fabricated and may be welded in either the annealed or precipitation (age) hardened condition.
