At present, there are few cases of large area stainless steel curtain wall in the field of building exterior wall. Even if large area is adopted, it often does not pursue its high flatness, but only expresses strong texture.

For The Chicago Cloud Gate project, each individual steel plate was CNC machined at the factory, cut with a stainless steel plasma torch 3/8 inches thick, and molded using a coil machine created specifically for the project. The stiffeners on the inner surfaces are then welded, and the final measurements are checked using 3D scanning technology, where they don't fit, hand-ground to a thousandth of an inch.
